Chromebook

We bought our baby a $75 refurbished Chromebook with a gorilla-glass “indestructible” touchscreen. I trust Acer, still using my 2012 Acer Chromebook that hasn’t had a software update since before the pandemic, and prefer the Chrome OS ecosystem, but your mileage may vary.

This device has proven invaluable. We use it to document notes daily on her behavior, poop schedule, feeding changes and problems, any symptoms or anything, as well as detailed notes from every doctor & therapist visit. We compile questions for specialists, and keep everything organized together on the device, which we can bring along to visits.

It can stay in her crib and plays audiobooks as well as a very complex white-noise app with tons of customization & features. It already has all the parental locks enabled, but she won’t be allowed to play with it until she is at least 2 years old. We have also used it as a baby monitor to stream audio/video of the baby to our phones. Overall, a great investment, cannot recommend this enough.
