JourneyTREE

Come sit with us!

Inspired by The Journey UMC and the very progressive United Methodist Church, JourneyTREE’s pragmatic approach to outreach & ministry closely follows the true path of Jesus Christ to meet real people exactly where they are in life. Through direct action & mutual aid, we seek to create positive transformation in our community & the surrounding region.

Trailblazing Testimony

We seek to innovate & revolutionize everywhere we go. Sharing our success & failures is part of the process of growth, both personally and within the larger group. Remembering the past helps us move forward on the path.

Rejoice with Rooted Radiance

Our celebrations are not only sources of joy but sources of good for our community. Every event we host includes some sort of direct action or mutual aid opportunity so that our rejoicing shares our rooted foundation with our neighbors radiantly.

Eternally Evolving Environment

Part of our mission is addressing sudden short-term crises without using standardized or generic methods. Each problem requires a unique approach that respects the individuality of the situation and people affected, no matter how small.

Eager And Ready To Help

E.A.R.T.H. means more than just helping someone but actually enjoying doing so. By deriving joy from activism, we are more focused on better solutions and always prepared to find the time to do what is best for others in our life.

Trailblazing Testimony

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:2

Rejoice with Rooted Radiance

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.

1 Peter 1:8

Eager And Ready To Help

LIFE TOGETHER

On the Second Saturday of every month, we visit the Southside Community Center in San Marcos to share a meal with the community. Please show-up at 3:30pm to help setup for a meal from 4pm-5pm. This is a great atmosphere to connect with someone different from you that you might otherwise never talk to.

ANCORA MINISTRIES

This project feeds over 800 children across 39 schools in Central Texas, plus another 15,000 kids in Guatemala. Focused on providing local meals outside of the school day as well as addressing malnutrition abroad, our impact includes more than just food, such as athletic shoes, safe cookstoves, & so much more.

United Methodists are urged to speak up for persons who face marginalization of any kind, including because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. The United Methodist Church commits to befriending and caring for all persons, including LGBTQ persons in our churches and communities.

The United Methodist Church opposes continued military occupation of the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem, and also the Syrian Golan Heights, the confiscation of Palestinian land and water resources, the destruction of Palestinian homes, the continued blockade of Gaza where over half the residents are children, the military detention of Palestinian children—often without trial—the continued building of illegal Jewish settlements, and any vision of a “Greater Israel” that includes the occupied territories and the whole of Jerusalem and its surroundings.
